NOTES
Including detailed notes when outlining psychological services and fees plays a key role in promoting transparency and understanding. These provisions help clarify the scope of services, responsibilities, expectations, and associated costs for both clients and psychologists, ensuring everyone is on the same page. They also serve as a safeguard against potential misunderstandings that might arise from varying interpretations or inferences. By offering this clarity, we aim to create a welcoming environment where clients feel informed, enhancing the overall therapeutic experience.
- If a session extends beyond the scheduled time, we charge in 5-minute increments. A minimum fee equivalent to 30 minutes of service applies to all requests. Please note that reports and other written documents are charged separately and not included in the standard fees. Not all services are eligible for Medicare or private health insurance rebates. Medicare services follow specific guidelines and are not included in this schedule.
- A Case Conference is a consultation between professionals and others directly involved in providing services to the same client. This rate is for professional time only; other fees, such as travel time and costs, may apply.
- Case Management fees apply when additional coordination is required.
- Report costs are not based solely on time. If additional time is required to complete a report, it will be charged according to item RO1 of this schedule. Professional letters to medical or referral agencies concerning the client’s treatment needs are not considered reports. Except for Medicare-mandated progress letters, these letters will be charged according to item RO1 with a minimum fee equivalent to 30 minutes, and in 15-minute increments thereafter, or at an hourly rate if necessary. Similarly, any other requested paperwork or documents will be charged in the same manner.
- A report is a psychological service requested directly by the referring agency or client. Reports require explicit written or verbal consent from the client or a legal guardian. They must meet rigorous professional and clinical standards and typically include a structured presentation of components such as relevant background information, medical and psychiatric history, current concerns, diagnoses or diagnostic impressions, test results, interventions, and recommendations. Please note that the length and cost of reports vary depending on the specific requirements of the requesting client or agency. Both the complexity and size of the report affect the time required to complete it. Final report fees are based on the time needed for file review, professional writing, review, and administration. As a general guide, the starting cost for a brief psychological report is $870 (3 hours).
- These items cover work related to cases involving high conflict, intense animosity or hostility between parties, significant complexity, or legal matters. This may include tasks such as reviewing documents, case management, case conferences, affidavit preparation, expert witness involvement, court attendance, and provision of testimony. Due to the added complexity, intensity, and disruption involved, fees for these services are higher.
- Travel time is charged for psychologists commuting to and from the clinic setting (transit). The cost of the travel (personal vehicle or taxi) is charged as per item TO4 in 15-minute increments
- Neuropsychological assessments differ from psychological assessments. The fees for neuropsychological assessments cover the psychologist’s time for parent interviews, feedback, test administration, scoring, interpretation of results, and report writing. If assessments are completed over multiple standard 50-minute consultations, they do not come with a report. In some cases, additional time may be needed to complete tests, which will be charged per item NA4. Psychological assessments are conducted during standard consultations and typically only include a portion of what is covered in a neuropsychological assessment.
- ADHD assessments can vary significantly based on several factors, including the presence of other possible explanations. It is not uncommon for an ADHD assessment to be combined with educational or autism assessments. Some ADHD assessments do not come with a report, such as when assessing for ADHD outside of the standard assessment structure that accounts for report writing time.
- When multiple assessment aims are involved, the cost is not simply the sum of the individual assessment items. Due to the variety of possible combinations, we do not list all scenarios on our website. Instead, we encourage clients to contact us directly for an estimate.
We reserve the right to update this schedule at any time. The most current version will always be available on our website.
